A Home Makover

We have a family that has been involved in our church for a number of years. The last few years of their lives have been lived in somewhat of a fog as life has overwhelmed them. Like most families, they made good and poor decisions in their lives, but this family has also experienced loss and medical problems beyond their control. Consequently, most of their financial and emotional resources have been poured into simply existing from day to day. The father of this family passed away some 5 years ago leaving them a town home to live in and a small pension from the military to help them continue living as a family. Within the last couple years, the family hired a contractor because their town home needs major repaisr and renovations. After providing the contractor $10,000.00 to complete the needed repairs, he skipped town with almost no work having been accomplished. This flagrant fraud left the family and their residence in even greater distress than before.
So what does all of this have to do with us?
We believe God asked us as a church to step in and lend a hand to these wonderful women. We had the opportunity to pour life and hope into this family. We refurbished the whole house with new carpet, paint, doors, and cabinetry.
