Food Pantry Update
The Pantry is hungry again. We are in need of cereal, canned foods,
pasta and sauce, canned fruit.
The Pantry
At Calvary we take very serious Jesus' command to love others and to care for those in need.
One of the ways we do that is through The Pantry. The Pantry is Calvary's food bank of
sorts for those that need a little help to get through a tough time. Many times people find
themselves in difficult situations where it is simply hard to make ends meet. After all the
bills are paid, utilities are covered and the rent or mortgage is taken care of there is very
little to spend on food. So they come to The Pantry and get the needed supplies to nourish
their family and get to the other side.
The Pantry often times is hungry itself and needs your help! We need to keep it filled.
Here is how we as a collective Church can step in to meet this need. Below is a list of
the types of food that are most of the time needed to nourish families. When you're at the
store pick up a few extra items, drop them off in the lobby on any Sunday and The
Pantry will never go empty again. Not only will this be an incredible blessing to others,
it also makes a great teaching tool for our families.
Items in need:
Peanut Butter Crackers
Jelly or Jam Graham Crackers
Cereal Canned Fruit
Granola Type Bars Snack Packs of Fruit
Breakfast Bars Canned Veggies
Pasta Canned Chicken
Macaroni and Cheese Canned Tuna
Spaghetti Sauce Hearty Soup
No frozen or refrigerated items please!!!!
Let's give of our best and watch as many are blessed. Here are the numbers - 1500 people attend Calvary worship services each Sunday. If every person brings two items each month we will provide food to approximately 100 families. Two items will average between $2.00 and $5.00 a month. What's the next step? Be a Pipe!!
