Getting to know Sharron Cook:

Where were you born? Glendale, CA

Did you have a nickname when you were growing up? If so, what was it , and why were you given it? Sherrie Lou

Who was/is your hero? My husband, Mike

Tell us about a person that influenced your life in a positive way: There were too many to pick only one. Numerous Sunday School teachers, friends, my mother.

What were your dreams for the future growing up? I dreamed of being an airline stewardess until I went to college, realized flying would be more enjoyable as a passenger than an employee and decided on another profession.

What is one thing you would like to accomplish in your life that you haven't already accomplished? A hole in one would be nice.

How did you meet your spouse? Here at Calvary, 23 years ago.

What was your first job? What did you learn while working there? Aside from babysitting? Picking strawberries. I learned it was hard work and when you make a commitment to an employer, you need to keep it, even when it gets tough.

What subject's did you like best in school? And least? Does that include recess? I liked classes with good instructors, except I never liked history or chemistry.

What was your favorite childhood TV show? I can't think of a favorite, but I did like "I Dream of Jeani," and I met Barbara Eden on a plane a few years ago. She's a tiny, itsy-bitsy thing. Very sweet and approachable.

What is your favorite TV show? My husband would say "QVC" but really I like to watch news and live interviews.

What is your favorite movie? I've always like Audrey Hepburn, so I'll say, "My Fair Lady."

What is your dream car? One that is amphibious and can also fly.

Do you have a favorite scripture verse or passage in the Bible? Jeremiah 31:3 b NIV "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving kindness."

Do you or did you participate in any type of recreation or sports? If so, what and when? Tennis was a passion until my knees gave out. I currently love to downhill ski and golf and am always looking for others with same interests.
