Getting to know our Student Ministries Director:

  John Syler (a.k.a. Brown John, Alpha Male or just plain ol' Syler) is not only running a small group but is co-running youth. John has been married for 27 years to Debbie Syler.

    John Syler has worked with youth ministries for 26+ years. He says, “That God has given him so much compassion for youth and he loves to see students develop a heart for God.” Sometimes we wonder where that compassion comes from. Other than working as the youth director, he is also an Agent for Aflac Insurance. On his free time, John enjoys golfing, traveling to Hawaii every October, and running the upper classmen boys discipleship group.

    Don’t freak if you are in the middle of a conversation with John when he will burst out with the question “Are you talkin’ to me?”. It just so happens to be his favorite quote. If he could trade places with any character from any movie he would be Bond….James Bond. His rival in his film would probably be his wife since she is his biggest fear.
