Getting to know our Missions and Care Pastor:

Where were you born? Evansville, Indiana

Did you have a nickname when you were growing up? If so, what was it , and why were you given it? Jimmy - boyhood nickname for James.

Who was/is your hero? The apostle Paul

Tell us about a person that influenced your life in a positive way: My first pastor, Rev. Schroeder - caused me to want to be a pastor when I was 9.

What were your dreams for the future growing up? I grew up in a poor home and had no such dreams.

What is one thing you would like to accomplish in your life that you haven't already accomplished? It's an ongoing desire to see more family members come to Christ.

How did you meet your spouse? At a party of church people. I was not yet a believer.

What was your first job? What did you learn while working there? First job as an adult was a typesetter and I learned how to handle difficult people.

What subject's did you like best in school? And least? As a kid, anything involving reading was great. Didn't care for math.

What was your favorite childhood TV show? No TV - liked radio mysteries such as "The Whistler" and a comedy, "The Dennis Day Show"

What is your favorite movie? Probably Jesus of Nazareth, made for TV, also the Peter Marshall Story.

What is your favorite musical group? Everybodyduck - my son is the drummer

What are your favorite books? Bible, Purpose Driven Life Series

Do you have a favorite scripture verse or passage in the Bible? Phil. 4:4-9; Phil. 1:6

Do you have any hobbies? Enjoy camping, and fishing

What is your special talent? teaching, comforting the hurting

Do you play a musical instrument? YES - Violin, along with my wife.

Do you or did you participate in any type of recreation or sports? If so, what and when? Skiing, shooting handguns, fishing
