Getting to know Bridget Dougherty: Where were you born? Stockton, CA Did you have a nickname when you were growing up? If so, what was it , and why were you given it? I had a few too many nicknames. My dad gave me a nickname when I was a little girl - Little Lee Lee. My favorite, a nickname some of my friends gave me in high school, was London Bridget. Tell us about a person that influenced your life in a positive way: My youth pastor was always encouraging me and helping me see the full potential I have as a young woman in this life. He was real with me and taught me many valuable lessons throughout my high school years and beyond. What were your dreams for the future growing up? When I was rather young I wanted to be a Firefighter. Then I wanted to be a professional ballerina, or a teacher. I also thought about going to beauty school. My main dream was to be a missionary in Africa at some point in my life. What is one thing you would like to accomplish in your life that you haven't already accomplished? To re-build and old car, fix up and older home, take a road trip, be in a professional musical (Broadway style), live in another country for a little while, and much much more! What was your first job? What did you learn while working there? An assistant for an Art Teacher. I learned that I love working with children and watching their faces light up when they have created something all by themselves. What subject's did you like best in school? And least? I loved dance and art. I disliked english and math. What was your favorite childhood TV show? Salute Your Shorts What is your favorite movie? The Notebook What is your favorite musical group? One Republic, The Cranberries, as well as many styles and groups. What are your favorite books? The Bug Man novels written by Tim Downs. They are mysteries. What is your dream car? Something old that looks new and shiny...such as an old Thunderbird. Do you have a favorite scripture verse or passage in the Bible? The book of Romans, specifically Romans 8. Do you have any hobbies? I like writing poetry and songs, spending time with my friends and loved ones, cooking, baking, sewing, choreographing dances, listening to music, ballroom dancing, etc. Do you play a musical instrument? Guitar, but I really want to learn violin and piano. Do you or did you participate in any type of recreation or sports? If so, what and when? Dance since I was 2 years old. I have been dancing over 18 years now! Though I have had many different forms of dance training, my favorite is Modern or Contemporary dance. I played soccer one year when I was 7...I wasn't any good at it :-P. If you were to have lunch with anyone, who would it be? My brother.
