“Baptism says you have given your life to Jesus and it isn’t your's anymore” Baptism is the symbolic demonstration of a change that is taking place in your life. While Baptism doesn’t transform you or save you, it represents your old life without Christ passing away as you are lowered into the water and your new life with Christ as you emerge. It also demonstrates obedience to Jesus, who you now call Lord. Jesus was baptized at the beginning of his ministry and instructed us to do the same. So in obedience we begin a life lived with Christ and his purposes just like Jesus did through Baptism. If you have never shared in this experience of oneness and closeness then we as a church have missed out being able to celebrate what God is and has been doing in your life. More importantly, you have missed being able to publicly stand for Jesus. Our pastors run a brief class to help you fully understand the act and commitment of Baptism. During this time you will be introduced to the biblical references that teach the heart of baptism. Our Baptism class will be held on April 13th in the office conference room at 9:45 & 11:00 am. Please check back for information about when our next baptism service will take place. Click here if you would like to view our baptism on Sunday, April 20th, 2008 |
